Best Keyword and Competition Research Tools

Let’s be clear, you can do a LOT of Keyword Research for Free – my favourite sites to do just that:

BUT when you want to get serious you’ll need a paid tool. There are plenty out there. Pay a monthly fee or pay once – doesn’t matter – but I am only showing below the ones I personally use.

So this is not some phony web page showing affiliate links to Every Darn Research Tool out there! These are sites and tools I use…

KW Finder

KWFinder is a tool designed by Mangools – a developer known for delivering the best keyword research tools across categories.

The KWFinder platform makes it easy to find keywords with low SEO difficulty, along with a whole host of other useful features.

Standout features

  • A unique and easy to navigate user interface
  • Find keywords in any language target, anywhere
  • Choose options from the list of powerful keywords
  • Get precise statistics for keyword competition
  • In-depth SERP overview alongside a list of suggestions
  • Use filters to refine the list of keyword suggestions

Pricing

KWFinder is part of a Mangools package that includes 4 other SEO tools. It only allows a handful of free searches. Select an annual plan to save up to 40% on any of their 3 subscriptions.

  • Basic – $30 (freelancers and small businesses)
  • Premium – $40 (new startups and blogs)
  • Agency – $80 (eCommerce stores and heavy sites)

LongTail Pro

It’s no secret that long-tail keywords are the new standard of SEO. Long Tail Pro generates long-tail keywords for niche sites and has even found a cult following with content producers for micro-niche sites.

Standout features

  • Powerful, detailed keyword metrics
  • Easily find long-tail keywords
  • Provides recommendations for attracting highly convertible organic traffic
  • 2,500+ SERP lookups every 24 hours

Pricing

Long Tail Pro is a premium tool and does offer a 7-days free trial (subscription to be canceled before 7 days). Subscriptions start as low as $25 per month (when billed annually). Long Tail Pro currently offers three plans to users:

  • Starter – $25/month
  • Pro – $45/month
  • Agency – $98/ month

Market Samurai

Market Samurai was my first ‘paid for’ SEO Tool and as it’s been constantly updated year on year it’s a great purchase especially if you prefer not to pay monthly for your tools.

Good news is that they have a 7 Day Free Trial too.

Standout features

  • SEO Competition Analysis – analyze the strength of competition in any niche
  • Keyword Research – find the right keywords to control your niche
  • Domains – choose a domain that will boost your rankings in the search engines
  • Monetization – turn traffic into cash with instant affiliate ads, published straight to your site
  • Find Content – research articles, and find content to republish immediately
  • Publish Content – write, schedule and publish content straight to your blog
  • Promotion – build high-authority backlinks to improve your site rankings

Video Marketing Blaster

Video Marketing Blaster is a great App from the guys at BlasterSuite, developers known for delivering the best tools for those of us who love marketing with video!

VMB makes it super easy to not only find keywords with low SEO difficulty, for your YouTube Video Marketing but goes way beyond that…

  • Choose options from the list of powerful keywords
  • Get precise statistics for keyword competition

Kind of an incredibly low price point considering all it does. But it’s for real and the tool has been updated every year since its release.
